I feel a little wacky right now :)

Why is the winner's name never mine? Not even the slightest hint of being my name. Shelly or Shannon or whatever your name is congrats...I think.

In other news, we are putting an offer on a house again. Wish us luck! This is the third house we have put an offer on and if it doesn't work, I think I might have a breakdown. You never know how emotionally invested you are until they come back and say, nope! It's sad really. You picture your future life in this home, plan out where you will put your furniture, how the yard is going to look, the upgrades you might make. It may seem a bit premature, just a bit, but I can't help myself. I get too excited. With this house we may have considered these things, but I am also trying to keep my mind from completely inhabiting the house. It's not working, so in a few days I may be bursting with joy or down in the dumps.

We have no idea what Heavenly Father has in store for us up there, but we are constantly trying to make the right decision for our family. If that is not getting this house, then I may shed a tear, but will know that there is something good around the corner. It just may be a very long corner. One of those ones that you can't really see the end of it at any point except a few feet from the end. (Is there such a thing? It sounded real to me!)

Also, Tad is getting a new calling. Exciting, yet sobering. I felt like a goober while we were meeting with the counselor in the Stake Presidency. After he announced what call it was, I said, "In our ward?!" In a shocked tone. Well, he so nicely replied, "Uh-huh." No sarcasm, no giggling, no pointing and laughing at my silly comment. Of course it was for our ward. The shock of the calling obviously had not warn off. Then as we drove home, I sat thinking, did I say yes to that? Really? Can I maybe have a minute more to think about this when I am in my right mind? Of course my answer wouldn't change, but I think they know that you will always say yes when they have the upper hand. When you don't really know what they just said and you sit there and smile thinking, "Woah, cool...wait, what?" Anyway, we're excited for what our future holds, because it's what we need and not always what we think or plan!

Hope all your lives are going well and are maybe not as crazy as ours, but I suspect everyone has their own bit of crazy!

Sheesh, why do I keep doing this?

Do you love giveaways? Yeah, I'm a bit skeptical seeing as how I've never won one. Then you see a picture and you say, "Okay, I never win, but what does it hurt to try, huh? What if?" Well this is one of those times! I've been wanting a camera for a long time and if you are in the same spot check this out! What can it hurt?

Relay for Girls

video

Best Daddy Eber!

I know it may seem like I don't know how to spell, but if you know me at all, I know how to spell pretty good and I tend to talk like a little kid every once and a while, so eber is kid talk for ever. So Tad really is the best dad ever. The girls LOVE him. He plays with them, dances and sings with them, makes them laugh and is a great example to them. I could not pick a better Dad for my girls. I LOVE my man!

For Father's day, the girls and I bought Daddy a few much needed shirts. We also made him a root beer and his favorite candy stashes. I found these cute ideas online and thought they were perfect. He loves root beer. I made him some eggs and muffins for breakfast. For dinner we had meatball sandwiches. Man food! Then we had snickers ice cream cake that I made for dessert! A day of favorites for our favorite Dad!! We love you!

Trip, haircut, and withdrawals!

I am such a dingle sometimes. Like I said, I forgot to get my camera out for most of the time we were in Georgia. It was a crazy trip at first, and then it evened out towards the end. So I got there thinking, maybe I should not have come now and then by the end I was almost in tears because I just didn't want to leave! My sister and her husband and baby had been living at my parents house for a while, since he was in school. Then my older brother had moved in with them, because of apartment/finance issues. My little brother is still at home, too. So we came to visit and he got booted out of his room. The next day, my other older brother came into town. His girlfriend he had been living with passed away, so he came to stay at my parent's while he gets back on his feet. Needless to say it was packed. Then about a week in my sister and her family got an apartment and one of my brothers moved in with them. That when Tad came to visit! It was a little less packed but still busy. We played a lot of ping-pong, went to a few places to eat, celebrated birthdays, saw a movie, played at the park, family games of kick-ball and baseball, pretty much awesomeness. And then of course my sister had her baby. It was quite a roller coaster ride for her, but that little Addy is sooooo adorable. She was a chunk! You need to understand that my sister was like 100 lbs before the baby. They waited so long to get that baby out that she had a 8 lbs 2 oz and 19 inches long. What?! Poor Beth! And then they had sooo many issues with the epidural and other meds that she pretty much had a natural birth. It amazes me what women can do, and especially my sister! She is a trooper! I love that little Addy, but I definitely did not get to hold her enough. Mike's parents really loved her and since that's where Beth and Mike are I didn't want to hog her too much. She is very loved and such a sweet little baby with the fullest head of hair I have ever seen! Even Afton has nothing on Addy and that's saying something! Anyway, we can't wait to see them all again, who knows when, but hopefully soon!
These are the only two pix I got there...Reesa getting her groove on one morning.

Whenever we get back from a trip out there, I am in withdrawals so I need lots of family time! That usually means we are making breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert together as a family. Love that!

The girls love dress-up! Reesa is being a pirate princess and Afton is a fairy princess godmother. (They made those up!) They are goobers!

A couple weeks ago, Afton said, "Mom, I want a haircut." I was a bit surprised, but we looked up some haircuts online. She picked a few out and I started to notice a trend. They all look pretty much the same. I had no idea that my four year old girl had a hairstyle that she liked. She's so grown up. I stuck a movie on the laptop for her and started chopping off her long locks! It turned out pretty cute, if I do say so myself! I put a few more layers in it the next day and regretted it the moment I finished. She looks way too grown up! The pictures below are before the layers. I think this is a cuter cut on her than the one she has now, but I've learned my lesson! No more making my four year old look 13!

Easter Time

Our "huge" town actually had a pretty good Easter party at a park in town. The Easter bunny came, with a police escort! They had a hunt for different age groups and the girls were so excited! They actually tended to collect the candy on the ground and not the eggs, oh well. After they did the hunt, we played on the playground with some friends for a bit.

The town mascot...a hippo, oh yeah, we are super cool here! Reesa was a little afraid of the hippo.

The Easter bunny was tricky this year. The girls loved their baskets, and it took quite a while to eat all that candy! We actually still have some leftover! Tad got a couple new ties and some sweet candy! The girls and I cut out some craft paper eggs and put them all over the apartment. They loved decorating the walls and random places, then finding them. And they got a toy bowling set, it's fun and they like it!

So of course we had to do bluebonnet pictures in their Easter outfits. They are too cute! I just love my two sweet girls!!

After we took pictures, we played at this super cool playground for a while. Afton loves the dinosaurs and acting like they are hungry for her!
