So I don't have much to say but it's been a little while since I posted. First of all, I have to dedicate this post to my Dad, who even though I may have forgotten his birthday, is the best dad EvEr! I love you Dad! (Just to make you feel guilty that I feel guilty!) Anyway, it's kind of been a crazy few months. It seems like every other week someone is getting sick here. Don't ask me why. Tad brought up the fact that with preschool and babysitting, the girls and I will have crazy good immune systems when it's all over! But life keeps going on. We are looking forward to this year, where besides Tad's student loans we hope to be debt free at the end of the year. That's a bit of debt to pay off, but I am hopeful that we can do it, if we work hard. We were hoping to get into a house this year, but I would much rather go into buying a house almost completely debt free and be able to buy something I want, instead of buying something that a loan company thinks we should buy. It will be a great day when we find what we like. For right now, we are pretty comfortable. This is a great apartment, Tad is busy at work which is a good thing, and we are busy with the girls. Reesa will be going to preschool this fall. How can that be? Just saying that I don't know if I'm ready for these next few years in our lives. How does life go by so fast?
Afton's birthday was yesterday. We had planned on celebrating tomorrow, which turned out to be inspired because she's been pretty sick this week. We are doing a chill birthday...a day of her favorite things. She will be going fishing with Daddy in the morning. Having friends over in the afternoon for games, lunch, cake, and a movie, and then we will top off the evening with family time/presents. I look at her and think was she ever really that tiny baby that I held, sang to, cleaned, changed, and couldn't put down? She is such a smartie pants. She loves to draw, make things (only she knows what they are), LOVES to play with Daddy (they usually play rocket ship and are space people), she tries to read, is learning to write (she does pretty good!), she tells me when I'm being a good mommy, she loves to help me cook/bake, loves movies, loves preschool, doesn't care so much about food, and cracks us up everyday with her matter of fact speech. I LOVE my Afton. She is beautiful because she tries so hard to be a good girl. She listens and learns quickly and tries to understand everything! I am sooooo lucky to have her as a first child. I have heard people say that their first children are like the first pancake...well that is true. I feel like if she has faults it's because I overcooked/undercooked her!
Well, I will have more pictures to post after this weekend.
She drew this all by herself. She created it, colored it, and I couldn't believe my eyes when she brought it to me. She's sooo good! (It's a fish by the way.)
My pillow covers I made to finally cover up my ugly couch cushions! Wanna know what fabric that is? That my friends is a shower curtain! Love good ideas that come to you in strange places! I had been searching for the right fabric forever and finally had a new idea. I looked in the bathroom section and found this shower curtain which turned out to be the perfect design and colors that I had been searching for. The other thing is that they are envelope covers which means I can take them off and wash them...so nice!
Found these cute shirts at Wally World. Poor Afton wasn't feeling good this day but still she looks cute! The girls loved our chill Valentines day, which didn't amount to much more than sickies watching movies, drinking orange juice, and occasionally eating treats.

I can't believe how big your girls are! Time really does go by so fast. Congrats on striving for the debt free life style! We are hoping ours will be gone too by the end of year :) Hope you are enjoying Texas and good luck with the upcoming year!
